2023 presidency: Support my Ambition -Tinubu Begged APC Senators
The National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appealed to the party’s senators to support his lifetime ambition to be the President of Nigeria.
Tinubu made the appeal on Wednesday during a meeting with APC senators at the National Assembly, Abuja. The former Lagos State governor asked the lawmakers to back his ambition based on his capacity and experience.
He said, “Why am I here? I came for your counsel, partnership and support. Nigeria has come to a point where we need a change of baton. Mr President is rounding up his second term.
“Election is coming. Our party’s convention is near. I need our party’s presidential ticket. I can’t achieve it by sitting at home. I believe, jointly, we can do it. I hope you can back me successfully for the aspiration of my lifetime ambition.
“Going by the counsel of the wise that says, ‘If you want to go fast, do it alone. If you want to go faster, go together.’ I’m asking for that team support to get me nominated by the party and eventually elected as the President of Nigeria. I urge you to look at my capacity and experience.”

Internet personality, Isaac Fayose has taken a swipe at the former governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for allegedly diverting about ₦1.3 trillion belonging to the Delta State Government.
In a video seen by NATIONAL WAVES, Isaac who is the younger brother of the former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, criticised Okowa for alleged fraud.
He said “Nobody probes Governors, even Okowa who they say took N1.something trillions, his sins are forgiven. He is now about going back to the Senate. You can see how we have legalise corruption in our country, while the citizens are hungry, ebi pawaa, ko sonoje meaning no food, iya jenwa meaning we are suffering. You see the sharing envelopes, envelopes and rice during elections.
It would be recalled that on October 15, 2024, NATIONAL WAVES published a story of how the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested and quizzed Okowa for a week over alleged fraud.
Okowa’s arrest was confirmed by the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale who stated that Okowa was investigated and detained over the alleged diversion of N1.3 trillion.
The N1.3 trillion reportedly represents the 13% derivation fund from the federation account between 2015 and 2023.
