The retreat, designed as a platform for reflection and forward-looking dialogue, brought together AFC’s founders and principal architects to review the institution’s journey, reaffirm its mission, and chart strategic priorities for the years ahead.

During Monday’s sessions, speakers highlighted Soludo’s pivotal role in the founding of AFC, noting that his early blueprint and sustained advocacy were instrumental in establishing the institution’s continent-wide impact.

His presence emphasised the importance of strong leadership, institutional memory, and collaboration in building African-led financial institutions capable of mobilising capital for infrastructure and economic development.

Taking to his Facebook page, Soludo reflected: “It was a privilege to be part of a gathering that reflected on AFC’s journey, reaffirmed its mission, and charted strategic priorities for the future. I am humbled by the kind words about my role in the founding of AFC and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to shaping African-led financial institutions that drive infrastructure and economic development. Let’s continue to build on our collective strengths to create a brighter future for our continent.”
