Bitget has announced an update to its peer-to-peer (P2P) fee structure for the Nigerian Naira (NGN) fiat pair, aiming to enhance liquidity and support evolving trading activity, the company confirmed on 26 February 2026.

Under the revised structure, takers users who fill existing orders on the NGN market will incur zero fees. Meanwhile, advertisers, or makers, providing liquidity will be charged 0.1 per cent on both buy and sell orders, applying specifically to trades involving the Nigerian Naira on Bitget’s P2P marketplace.

Ignacio A. Franco, Chief Marketing Officer at Bitget, said the adjustment reflects the company’s commitment to adapting its trading infrastructure to key regional markets.

“Our priority is to continuously refine our marketplace to better serve local communities,” he stated.

Franco added that the zero taker fees are intended to stimulate liquidity and make cryptocurrency access more seamless for Naira users, while the maker fees maintain a competitive marketplace structure.

“We remain committed to adapting our infrastructure to evolving market dynamics and supporting sustainable growth across key fiat currencies,” he said.

The update is expected to incentivise both buyers and sellers on Bitget’s NGN P2P platform, supporting smoother trading and broader adoption of cryptocurrencies in Nigeria.
