Adamawa NIS Arrests Illegal Migrants was confirmed on Friday by the State Comptroller of Immigration, Sani Jega, who disclosed that the operation was carried out following sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering activities.

According to Jega, the intercepted individuals comprise 77 Cameroonians, 21 Nigeriens, six Burkinabe nationals, and three Chadians, all found residing illegally within Adamawa State.

He further revealed that preliminary investigations indicated that some of the Cameroonian and Chadian nationals may be linked to suspected job scam activities, a development that has heightened concerns over cross-border criminal networks.

The Comptroller described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen border security and curb irregular migration into Nigeria, describing the exercise as both strategic and necessary.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities involving undocumented migrants to the nearest immigration authorities.
