Afro Nation 2025 Nigeria stars Shallipopi and Davido thrilled fans at Portugal festival’s opening night with energetic performances and crowd favourites
Popular Nigerian artistes Shallipopi and Davido delivered thrilling performances at the opening night of the 2025 Afro Nation festival in Portugal.
The three-day music event, which began on Wednesday night, is a celebration of African music and culture. Afro Nation, founded in 2019, has since grown into one of the continent’s most prominent music showcases.
Shallipopi captivated the audience with his performance of ‘Lahoo’, bringing his siblings and other artistes on stage. His energetic act earned loud applause and enthusiastic cheers.
Davido followed with a powerful set, performing fan favourites including ‘If’, ‘Fall’, ‘Dami Duro’, and ‘Fia’. His performance was described as electric by festival organisers.
Sharing a clip online, Afro Nation wrote: “ANP2025? OBO OUR HEADLINER!! @davido closed our day one of #ANP2025 with the biggest and BADDEST energy 001 would bring!”
They also praised Shallipopi: “MONUMENTAL! @theycallmeshallipopi came to SCATTER the Portimao at #ANP2025!”
Tems is set to perform on Thursday night. Burna Boy, Kamo Mphela, Booba, and Dexta Daps will close the festival with performances on Friday.
