Araraume false statement claims are rejected as the senator denies authorising a publication and reaffirms his APC commitment
Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume has denied authorising a statement circulating online that was attributed to him, describing the publication as false, unauthorised and intended to create confusion within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State.
In a disclaimer issued on July 8, 2026, Araraume said he had no involvement in the document titled “A Message of Gratitude, Unity, and a Clarion Call to Rebuild Okigwe Zone”, which had been shared across various media platforms.
The senator said the publication was fabricated and did not represent his position, adding that he had neither written, approved nor instructed anyone to release the statement on his behalf.
Araraume maintained that he remains a committed member of the APC and continues to respect the party’s leadership, constitution and internal democratic procedures.
The statement stressed that he has not declared himself the party’s candidate for the Imo North Senatorial Primary, noting that he is awaiting the official position and final decision of the party through recognised channels.
“Senator Araraume remains a steadfast, disciplined, and committed member of the All Progressives Congress. His loyalty to the party, its leadership, and its ideals is unwavering,” the statement read.
The senator also addressed speculation about his relationship with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, rejecting claims of political disagreement or tension between them.
According to the statement, Araraume’s relationship with the governor remains based on mutual respect and a shared interest in the development of Imo State.
The clarification comes amid political discussions surrounding the Imo North Senatorial Primary, with Araraume urging party members, residents of Imo North and the wider public to disregard the disputed publication.
He accused unnamed individuals of attempting to create division and misrepresent his views, describing the action as an effort by “mischief makers and political opportunists” to cause unnecessary tension.
Araraume reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the APC and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while pledging to continue engaging in political activities through lawful and responsible means.
The senator’s latest statement aims to draw a clear line between his official position and the unauthorised material circulating in his name.
