Mikel Arteta has urged Arsenal to stay focused ahead of their key Premier League clash against West Ham in the title race

Mikel Arteta has called on Arsenal to quickly shift focus back to the Premier League as they prepare for a “huge” clash against West Ham United on Sunday, following their emotional qualification for the UEFA Champions League final.

Arsenal secured a place in the Champions League final earlier in the week after defeating Atletico Madrid, marking only the second time in the club’s history they have reached the competition’s final stage.

Despite the achievement, Arteta stressed that there is little time for celebration as the club continues its push for a first English league title in 22 years.

The Gunners currently sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, with three matches remaining, although they have played one more game than Manchester City.

Their upcoming fixture against West Ham is seen as a critical test, particularly as the Hammers are fighting to avoid relegation, adding further intensity to the encounter.

Arteta emphasised the need for consistency and mental focus, urging his players to maintain the same hunger and energy that has defined their season so far.

He described the remaining matches as decisive, noting that every performance will have a significant impact on the title race.

Arsenal will also face Burnley and Crystal Palace in their final league fixtures, with the latter coming just days before the Eagles contest the Europa Conference League final.

In terms of team news, Arteta confirmed that Mikel Merino and Jurrien Timber remain unavailable as they continue recovery, with their participation in the Champions League final still uncertain.

He added that their return would depend on a smooth and accelerated recovery process in the coming weeks.
