Ayra Starr praises Wizkid as a leading legend, highlighting his confidence, calmness, and presence as key lessons during their collaborations
Nigerian singer and songwriter Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has praised Wizkid for his personality and professionalism.
Speaking about her collaborations with the Grammy-winning artist, Ayra described Wizkid as a “leading legend” and said he taught her the importance of confidence and calm.
“Wizkid is a leading legend. We all know that. My first time working with him, I just couldn’t believe it and I was myself. But the second time, he was very calm, cool, and relaxed. I know confidence isn’t noise. He made me have that understanding. He’s very present & confident in his life mission, and that made me learn a lot,” she said.
The singer’s remarks come amid a period of recognition for Nigerian artistes, with Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid all earning nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards.
