The changes, announced during a swearing-in ceremony, come about nine months before the end of the governor’s administration and follow the resignation of some commissioners seeking to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Two other commissioners were also removed from office as part of the cabinet adjustments.

Governor Mohammed explained that the appointments were necessary to ensure that local government areas affected by vacancies continued to have representation in the state cabinet.

The newly appointed commissioners are Madaki Ahmad Gololo, Bashir Yau, Bashir Adamu Rishi and Baraya Ibrahim.

While addressing the new appointees, the governor urged them to uphold integrity, accountability, transparency and due process in the management of public resources.

He warned that their actions would be closely monitored by both the government and residents of Bauchi State.

“Your actions and conduct will be closely monitored by the government and the people of Bauchi State. You must ensure that your stewardship reflects probity, accountability, and transparency, and avoid any act capable of bringing this administration into disrepute,” Mohammed said.

Speaking on behalf of the new commissioners, Baraya Ibrahim thanked the governor for the opportunity and pledged their commitment to supporting the administration’s development agenda.
