At least 10 passengers, including a female grain trader, were reportedly kidnapped on Takum–Tor Donga–Katsina-Ala highway on Monday, February 9, 2026, around 10:00 a.m.

The victims were travelling from Takum to Tor-Donga Market when the attack occurred at Tse-De settlement in Katsina-Ala LGA.

Family members reported no communication from the abductors a week after the incident, raising concerns over the victims’ safety. Relatives have appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts to secure their release.

Residents along the corridor have called for increased patrols and surveillance to curb criminal activity along the busy route.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Benue State Police Command had yet to provide further details at the time of reporting.
