Benue State anniversary postponement announced as government shifts 50th and administration celebrations for further planning and coordination
The Benue State Government has announced the postponement of activities scheduled to mark the state’s 50th anniversary as well as the third anniversary of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration.
The decision was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Deputy Governor of Benue State, Barr Dr Sam Ode, mni.
According to the statement, the postponement became necessary to allow for further consultations and adjustments aimed at ensuring a more inclusive and well-coordinated celebration.
The government explained that a new date for the commemorative events would be communicated to the public in due course.
It expressed regret over any inconvenience the decision may cause to individuals, groups and organisations that had already made preparations for the celebrations.
The statement also appreciated residents of the state for their understanding, patience and continued support for the administration.
The planned events were expected to highlight both the state’s historical milestone and the progress recorded under the current government.
