BUK's New Single LHFG

BUK’s new single LHFG blends faith, purpose and rich sound as the Nigerian-born rapper continues his inspiring journey in the Christian music scene

UK-based Nigerian rapper and producer BUK has unveiled his latest single “LHFG” (Lovin’ IT), a soul-stirring track that continues his evolution as a leading voice in the Christian music scene.

The acronym stands for Love, Hope, Faith, Grace pillars that define both the track and BUK’s personal journey.

Born Bukunmi Peter Onasanya and raised in Bodija, Ibadan, BUK draws deeply from his upbringing as the son of a reverend.

His latest work, “LHFG,” reflects the tension between honouring one’s roots and stepping boldly into one’s purpose. D

elivered with crisp production, fluid flows and introspective lyrics, the song resonates with anyone navigating faith, identity and calling.

“‘LHFG’ is not just about me.

It’s about every soul that has ever tried to reconcile who they are with who the world expects them to be,” said BUK in a statement.

“It’s faith-filled but it’s also real — and that’s what makes it powerful.”

BUK’s creative story began not in a music studio, but beside a neighbour’s boom box. Fascinated by its ability to record sound, young Bukunmi became consumed by the magic of music.

By secondary school, he was writing songs and layering beats.

That passion followed him to the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, where he studied Computer Science and developed a reputation under the alias “Iceberg.”

He became a go-to producer in campus circles, known for his keen ear and smooth mixes. This reputation followed him into the professional world, and in 2015, he founded Artstillbeats Studio in Ibadan.

The studio quickly became a hub for both local and international gospel acts. BUK’s work stood out for its quality and purpose — a fusion that earned him acclaim far beyond Nigeria.

It’s faith-filled but it’s also real  and that’s what makes it powerful.

In 2022, BUK moved to the United Kingdom and rebranded himself for a global audience.

Though he had long been behind the scenes helping artists like LC Beatz, Tobi Toun and Lekan Salamii, the shift marked a new phase  one where BUK would step into the spotlight.

With “LHFG,” that transition is complete.

The single combines reflective storytelling with genre-blending soundscapes, proving BUK’s versatility.

He delivers verses filled with hope and resolve, while the beat invites both meditation and movement. The production is tight, the message is uplifting, and the delivery is compelling.

What sets BUK apart is his ability to infuse spirituality into every bar without becoming preachy.

Whether one identifies with the Christian message or not, the track’s sincerity and craftsmanship are undeniable.

The production showcases not just a technically skilled musician, but a storyteller with something to say.

The song’s strength lies in its balance. While grounded in gospel values, “LHFG” doesn’t shy away from the artist’s inner conflict.

There’s vulnerability, but there’s also triumph — the sound of someone who has walked through confusion into clarity.
