Fulham defender Calvin Bassey admits missing a big chance in the 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest, reflecting on the game’s key moment
Fulham defender Calvin Bassey expressed disappointment after missing a key opportunity in his team’s 0-0 stalemate with Nottingham Forest.
The Nigerian international came close to scoring early in the game but failed to direct his header on target despite beating his marker.
“It was a big chance. I wasn’t sure if I was onside or offside at the moment. I timed the jump well, but I hit it straight at the keeper. It’s got to be a goal,” Bassey admitted.
The 25-year-old has scored once in 22 league appearances for Fulham this season under manager Marco Silva.
Bassey’s reflections highlight the missed opportunity that could have secured three points for the London-based club in their ongoing Premier League campaign.
