C.L.I.C.K.D. loan helps Nigerians access laptops, smartphones and tablets through affordable credit as the Federal Government expands digital inclusion
The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), led by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Uzoma Nwagba, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy under Minister Dr Bosun Tijani, launched the C.L.I.C.K.D. loan programme in Abuja on July 21, 2026, creating a new pathway for Nigerians to access laptops, smartphones, tablets and other digital devices through structured credit payments.
The Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices Programme, known as C.L.I.C.K.D., is designed to reduce the financial barriers preventing many Nigerians from acquiring technology needed for education, employment, entrepreneurship and digital skills development.
At the launch event, CREDICORP announced that the first phase would provide 1,000 locally assembled laptops to qualified beneficiaries, beginning with fellows of the Federal Government’s Three Million Technical Talent Programme.
Seventy-seven beneficiaries in Abuja received devices during the opening phase, with further distribution expected across other states.
Dr Bosun Tijani said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring Nigerians have access to both digital skills and the tools required to participate in the growing technology economy.
“Nigeria’s digital economy can only thrive when our people have both the skills and the tools to succeed,” Tijani said.
Uzoma Nwagba described the programme as a significant move towards making digital devices more accessible through responsible consumer credit.
“C.L.I.C.K.D. transforms digital devices from a barrier into an opportunity,” Nwagba said, adding that access to technology could help Nigerians learn, work and create new economic opportunities.
The C.L.I.C.K.D. loan application process is now open through CREDICORP’s official portal, allowing interested Nigerians to register their interest in accessing laptops, smartphones, tablets and other digital devices through structured payment arrangements.

CREDICORP has not yet confirmed whether participants from all listed programmes will be included in the first distribution phase.
The decision to prioritise locally assembled laptops highlights the government’s wider goal of supporting domestic technology production while improving access to digital tools for Nigerians.
The initiative is expected to support students, entrepreneurs, remote workers and aspiring technology professionals who require reliable devices to improve their skills and economic opportunities.
However, CREDICORP has not yet announced key financial details, including interest rates, repayment periods or possible upfront payment requirements for beneficiaries.
The launch builds on CREDICORP’s wider consumer credit strategy, which began with efforts to expand access to affordable financing for productive needs.
The corporation previously introduced consumer credit initiatives targeting federal civil servants before widening its approach.
As the programme expands, its long-term success will depend on transparent lending conditions, efficient delivery and the ability to reach Nigerians who need digital devices most.
For many potential beneficiaries, the C.L.I.C.K.D. loan represents more than device ownership, offering a possible pathway to education, employment and participation in the digital economy.
