David-Adesua, who previously contested the ADC governorship ticket in 2018 and 2026, is now seeking the PDP nomination for Ekiti North Senatorial District.

In a resignation letter dated April 21, 2026, and addressed to the ADC Chairman of Ijesa Isu Ward 7 in Ikole Local Government Area, the politician confirmed his immediate exit from the party.

He stated that the decision was final and aligned with his political objectives, noting his membership registration number as part of his formal withdrawal.

David-Adesua also highlighted his contributions to the ADC, saying he played active roles across ward, local government, state, and national levels during his time in the party.

He further claimed to have supported party operations financially and logistically, including securing office spaces across all 12 wards in Ikole Local Government Area.

Sources close to the politician said the move to the PDP was strategic, aimed at positioning him for the Ekiti North senatorial ticket.

Confirming his defection, David-Adesua said the decision was driven by his desire to better serve his constituents and deliver democratic dividends.

He stressed that his political ambition required a more effective platform to achieve meaningful impact in the region.
