The programme, organised by Transporters for Tinubu 2027, offers free eye tests, drug abuse sensitisation, and access to soft loans through the Transporters Cooperative Society.

The ceremony at Jabi Park brought together members of transport unions, including the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), as well as industry stakeholders.

“Transportation is the most important part of our lives. Without it, how will people move? How will goods get from Abia to Abuja?” Chinedum said, urging transporters to make use of the free services.

He also highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, including modern bus terminals in Mabushi, Kugbo, and the Central Area.

Speaking at the event, Prince Segun Obayendo, National Coordinator of Transporters for Tinubu 2027, shared his experiences as a former cab driver, calling for the modernisation of motor parks and increased engagement with government.

Prince Dauda Abdulakadir, FCT NURTW Chairman, expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting the importance of contributing to efforts that secure the sector’s future.
