In a statement from Mr. Olugbenga Ajayi, PTAD’s Head of Corporate Communications, the directorate confirmed that the disbursement process has been finalised, ensuring that pensioners across four key departments receive their outstanding entitlements.

“This disbursement reaffirms our commitment to the welfare of pensioners in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu,” Ajayi said.

Here’s how the ₦5.12bn was distributed across the four pension departments:

Civil Service Pension Department:

  • 12,773 pensioners
  • ₦408,736 disbursed for one month arrears.

Police Pension Department:

  • 9,681 pensioners
  • ₦619,584 disbursed for two months arrears.

Parastatals Pension Department:

  • 59,609 pensioners
  • ₦3,814,976 disbursed for two months arrears.

Customs, Immigration & Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD):

PTAD emphasized that the payment demonstrates the Federal Government’s ongoing dedication to honouring the entitlements of its retirees under the Defined Benefit Scheme, especially as the government aims to clear legacy arrears and ensure timely pension disbursements.
