Lagos Man Arraigned for Alleged Rape of Woman

Femi Falomo, 29, arraigned in Lagos for allegedly raping a woman, pleads not guilty. Trial adjourned to March 4

A 29-year-old businessman, Femi Falomo, was arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday over allegations of raping his lover’s friend.

Falomo, who resides at Alhaji Abe Deen Close, Igan, Igando Road, Lagos, is facing a one-count charge of rape.

The offence is said to have occurred on January 1 at Governor’s Road, Ikotun, Lagos.

Prosecutor ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji told the court that Falomo allegedly lured the 20-year-old victim, who had been stranded after a crossover service, to a hotel, gave her alcohol, and raped her.

The act is alleged to contravene Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Falomo pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate L. A. Owolabi granted bail in the sum of N700,000 with two sureties of the same amount and adjourned the case to March 4 for mention.

The Lagos Police continue to investigate the case as the trial progresses.
