Francis Uzoho of Omonia Nicosia is expected to start in goal for the Super Eagles when Nigeria face Jordan in an international friendly at the Corendon Airlines Park on Tuesday.

The decision follows the injury setback to Maduka Okoye, the Udinese goalkeeper, who sustained a thigh injury during training and has been ruled out of the fixture against the World Cup-bound side.

Uzoho, who has previously served as the Super Eagles’ second-choice goalkeeper, steps into the starting role as the team adjusts its lineup ahead of the encounter.

His inclusion reflects the coaching staff’s reliance on experienced options within the squad.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper was part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he made one appearance during the tournament.

Over the years, he has accumulated 36 caps for the three-time African champions, contributing to the team’s depth in the goalkeeping department.

His expected start against Jordan provides another opportunity to reinforce his position within the national team setup as the Super Eagles continue preparations in Antalya.
