In a letter dated 10 November 2025, the former Governor of Ogun State and serving Senator extolled His Royal Majesty, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, Ojuromi VI, for what he called a transformative and harmonious stewardship since ascending the ancient throne after a long interregnum.

Senator Daniel noted that Ijebu-Igbo has experienced a “glorious dawn of peace and progress” under the monarch’s guidance.

He lauded the Orimolusi’s commitment to inclusive development, describing him as a beacon of hope for all sons and daughters of Ijebu-Igbo.

“The tranquillity and transformation being experienced across the land speak eloquently of your divine calling and selfless royal stewardship,” Daniel wrote, adding that the king’s courage, fairness and devotion continue to rekindle the noble heritage of his forebears.

Praying for God’s continued grace, health and wisdom for the Orimolusi, the Senator expressed confidence that the monarch would lead his people to greater heights of prosperity and honour.

Gbenga Daniel, who served as Ogun State governor from 2003 to 2011, signed the letter in his capacity as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy and Deputy Chairman on National Identity and National Population.

He reaffirmed his deep respect for the royal institution and the cultural values it embodies.
