Human Skull Ritual Arrest in Niger: Police apprehend five suspects with a human skull intended for money rituals; investigation reveals shocking two-year-old plot
Human Skull Ritual Arrest has shaken residents of Niger State as police operatives uncovered a chilling scheme involving five suspects and a human skull in Bida town.
According to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, the suspects were arrested in a hotel on July 19 following credible intelligence.
The skull was traced back to Ahmadu Jiya, who admitted exhuming the remains of his maternal grandmother, aged over 90, in a desperate attempt to settle debts of over ₦2 million.
He claimed a herbalist, Ndache, instructed him to obtain a human head—dead or alive—for a money ritual.
Jiya later backed out and kept the skull hidden for two years until his friend, Muhammed Adamu, returned with another associate, Abubakar Mohammed, offering ₦100,000.
They paid ₦40,000 upfront and took the skull to another herbalist, Malam Ali Mohammed, who charged ₦500,000 for a ritual involving a drum and the skull.
When the ritual failed, they demanded a refund and were lured to a hotel where police arrested them all. Authorities have launched a discreet investigation into the disturbing case.
