Otunba Femi Davies, Chairman of Media and Publicity of Ogun State All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC) has congratulated the winner of the 2023 Presidential Election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senator’s elect, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD), Solomon Adeola (Yayi) and Shuaib Salisu.
In his words, “I most heartily congratulate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, on this landmark victory at the polls. “Nigeria could not have picked a more cerebral and compassionate leader to carry forward the work that has been done by President Muhammadu Buhari in the last eight years.
“Today’s victory is testament to the President-Elect’s decades of investment in people, relationships, and institutions. His story is filled with testimonies of the strategic solutions he applied to problems that were thought to be unsolvable. He took on the Atlantic Ocean and defeated. I am certain that he will lead Nigeria to economic excellence and peaceful coexistence.
“Now that we have arrived on the other side of the murky waters of electioneering, it is time we all passed around the towel of understanding and patriotism. I implore the members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to be magnanimous in their triumph and resist the urge to aggravate the opponents. I also call on the opposition to look at the final result as the true will of the people that has come after a fair and free contest. Nigeria’s success is far more important than personal egos.
“I, therefore, call on men and women of conscience to see the election as a process, however imperfect it might be, and let the country heal. We cannot afford another crisis.
“Once again, I congratulate the President-Elect, the Vice President-Elect and Senator-elect of Ogun East senatorial district, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Ogun Centrals’ Shuaib Salisu and Solomon Adeola (Yayi) of Ogun West on this outstanding feat. Nigerians, congratulations on voting in the most competent team on offer. May God grant them the strength and wisdom to deliver good governance to the people.

The Group Chief Executive Officer, Oando Group, Mr Wale Tinubu, has described the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as an exemplary politician who possesses leadership qualities worthy of emulation.
In a message to felicitate the former Lagos State governor on his 71st birthday on Wednesday, the Oando boss also lauded the selfless sacrifices the President-Elect have made for the enthronement and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
In his message Mr. Tinubu wrote:‘ ’Happy birthday H.E Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, an inspirational leader and President-Elect! Your selfless dedication to improving the lives of others, most especially Nigerians, is exemplary. As we celebrate another year of your remarkable accomplishment, may Allah (SWT) grant you courage and success in the leadership of our great nation.”
Popularly known as ‘Governor Emeritus’, Tinubu’s political career began in 1991 when he became a Senator of the Federal Republic representing Lagos West Senatorial District. The Third Republic was, however, truncated by the late General Sanni Abacha in 1993, following the June 12 debacle. But for fate, he would have been summarily dispatched for his outspokenness then.
The Lagos State-born politician came back in 1998, preparatory to the advent of the Fourth Republic. This time, he came out better, wiser and more determined. He was elected the governor of Lagos State in 1999 under the platform of the Alliance for Democracy, AD.
He survived the Peoples Democratic Party’s ‘Tsunami’ in 2003 when other AD governors in the South West region were swept away from office.
His political profile has been on the rise since, as he was among the top politicians who formed the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2014.

The Arole Oduduwa and Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has appealed to all stakeholders in the ongoing presidential election particularly politicians and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be matured in their conducts in order for peace to reign.
In an emergency press release issued at the Ile Oodua Palace, Ile-Ife on Tuesday, the Ooni who is the Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN), explained that Nigerians particularly the low income earners have been waiting patiently for the electioneering period to be over for them to resume normal activities.
“The imbroglio developing from the Presidential election of Saturday is unnecessary, distracting and totally unacceptable. The nation does not need it at the moment. All over the world, elections are known to be disputed. And the tension must be addressed in a way in line with law of the land and in accordance with the best global practices.”
“All politicians involved and their respective political parties without exception not to do anything capable of heating up the polity as this dangerously amounts to torching up a simmering fire of Nigerian cohesion.
“The Ooni of Ife in his capacity as the Co-chairman of National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) hereby charges the nation’s electoral body to  remain on the path of fairness, equity and justice as it sets to complete the process of announcing the result of the election as adopted in global best standard.”
In the same vein, the Ooni urged Nigerians to remain patient and understanding of the fact that the country is far bigger than all entities and personalities.
“Nigeria and indeed some Nigerians are yet to recover from the hurts that emanated from the mismanagement of the #ENDSARS protest, that is why we must be watchful of our conducts and speeches.
“Nigerians have suffered enough and any form of uproar will add to the already harsh condition of living for Nigerians especially the poor and vulnerable amongst us. I equally urge our youths to resist all pressure to be utilized by unpatriotic elements as thugs.” The Ooni stated.
