Interswitch Asaba Airport smart parking system partnership introduces automated parking and cashless payment solutions to improve airport operations
Africa’s leading integrated digital payments and commerce company, Interswitch, has announced a strategic partnership with the Asaba Airport Company (AAC) to deploy a smart parking solution at the Asaba International Airport.
The Interswitch Asaba Airport smart parking system, officially known as the Interswitch Parking Management Platform (PMP), is designed to automate parking operations and improve access control for passengers, visitors, and airport staff.
The initiative introduces a seamless, secure, and fully digital system aimed at enhancing operational efficiency while improving the overall travel experience at the airport.
Speaking on the partnership, Vice President, Transport Ecosystem at Interswitch, Nnenna Ajanwachuku, said the project reflects the company’s commitment to driving efficiency and transparency through technology.
She explained that the platform not only addresses operational challenges but also supports smarter infrastructure capable of boosting revenue and long-term sustainability.
“Our commitment is to deploy technology that drives efficiency, transparency, and seamless user experiences across critical sectors,” she said.
The system also enables cashless parking payments and leverages digital solutions to strengthen airport revenue management while improving operational oversight.
Managing Director of Asaba Airport Company, Christophe Penninck, described the collaboration as a major milestone in the airport’s drive toward operational excellence and improved service delivery.
According to him, the smart parking system will enhance efficiency, improve transparency, and provide a better experience for airport users.
He added that the initiative will also strengthen revenue management and position Asaba Airport as a leader in smart aviation infrastructure.
