Ikorodu City forward Joseph Arumala has insisted that his main focus remains helping his side achieve a strong finish in the 2025–26 Nigeria Premier Football League season, despite leading the scoring charts.

Arumala has been one of the standout performers in the division this season, but he has moved to downplay personal ambition, stressing the importance of collective success over individual recognition.
Speaking to NPFL media, the forward said he intends to approach the remainder of the season with calmness and consistency rather than chasing a specific goal tally.
“I just want to enjoy the remaining games of the season,” he said.
“I am not targeting any number of goals but I just want to help my team do well so that we can finish the season very well. For me, it is a game at a time.”
Ikorodu City remain in contention for a strong league finish as they continue their push to challenge the established sides and target a historic campaign in Nigeria’s top flight.
