Kaduna roads agency says all inherited projects are active, crediting Governor Uba Sani for resolving stalled contracts and compensation issues
Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, Managing Director of the Kaduna Roads Agency, said on Monday in Kaduna that there are currently no abandoned road projects in Kaduna State, attributing the development to Governor Uba Sani’s decisive intervention in clearing long standing bottlenecks.
Baba Ahmed made the disclosure while speaking in a documentary titled From Inherited Stagnation to Visible Progress, which was shared on the official Facebook page of Governor Uba Sani on Monday.
He explained that many road projects inherited by the present administration had stalled due to unpaid contractual liabilities and unresolved compensation claims, but said those issues had since been resolved under the governor’s leadership.
According to him, several projects inherited at an average completion level of about 30 per cent have recorded remarkable progress. He said that as of December 2025, most of those projects have advanced beyond 65 per cent completion.
Baba Ahmed identified major corridors currently under construction or rehabilitation to include Kakuri, Barnawa, Pan Drive, Raba Rigasa and the Kabala Aliyu Makama axis, noting that the projects are already driving economic recovery across the state.
“These roads are not just being rebuilt. They are reopening industries, restoring livelihoods and stimulating economic activity across Kaduna,” he said, describing the progress as a powerful turnaround from years of stagnation.
He added that steady funding and improved project supervision have ensured uninterrupted work on all ongoing contracts, stressing that no road project is presently abandoned in the state.
Also featured in the documentary, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State, Rev Caleb Ma’aji, commended Governor Sani for what he described as inclusive governance and sustained infrastructure delivery, particularly in Kaduna South.
Ma’aji said communities in the area have witnessed visible improvements in road infrastructure, including the completion of projects that had been abandoned for years.
He recalled that during the 2024 Christmas Carol, he appealed directly to the governor for road construction in parts of Kaduna South, a request he said was approved immediately.
“There is certainly a paradigm shift from where we were about three years ago, when Kaduna South felt abandoned and excluded,” Ma’aji said.
“With the coming of a governor who has the people of Kaduna State at heart, irrespective of faith or ethnicity, things have changed.”
He added that Governor Sani approved the construction of three key road routes on December 22, 2024, during the Christmas Carol at ECWA Good News High Cost in Kaduna, describing the decision as a defining moment for affected communities.
