Briefing journalists at the Bompai Police Headquarters, Bakori said some names appeared multiple times and that authorities have already received actionable tips to arrest and prosecute offenders.

“We are currently verifying these names and will take action soon,” he said, urging drug dealers to desist or leave the state.

He added that using open-source intelligence, the police are profiling suspects to ensure decisive action.

“This demonstrates our commitment to leveraging technology and community support to combat crime,” he noted.

Bakori further stated that, in collaboration with the state government and sister security agencies, Kano has been liberated from bandit activities.

Recent operations have resulted in arrests and prosecutions for crimes including armed robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking, thuggery, and cybercrime.

“Our roadmap for 2026 is yielding tremendous results,” he said, highlighting strategies such as intelligence-led policing, community engagement, capacity building for officers, and the state-of-the-art cybercrime unit.

He also cited the successful ‘Operation Kukan Kura’ in reducing thuggery and violence.
