Lady Kosor Felicia Akpapunam Finally Laid To Rest In Asaba

They came out in their numbers, the high and mighty, men, women and youths…from across the seas, from Abuja, port Harcourt, Kaduna, Jos, the hinterlands they all took the trouble to attend as a final honour and parting gift to a dear and loved friend, compatriot, sister and colleague.

All wished they could give something to bring her back to life…plead a few more years for her on planet Earth…but alas, their tears and good wishes only helped to ease her final journey into the eternal as they waved, teary-eyed, some sobbing by her graveside in Asaba and sang the funeral hymn, “God be with u till we meet again”.

Her sons Chuks and Ogechukwu were a sorry sight, so were her siblings Ogbueshi Sammy and Hadiza were wailing, dressed in beautiful white lace with stones, Chief Mrs. Kosor Felicia Akpapunam, a friend of the poor, administrator, mother, and grandmother was finally committed to Mother Earth.

Sadly, her husband, the entertainment personage Henry Akpapunam (DJ MANNIX), was cordoned in a small room according to the dictates of tradition and comforted by family.

His siblings Ken, Collins and Sister Fyde, her hubby Captain Tony Inogbo, their two sons Kynebi and Nonso were all gloomy and tearful. Officiating Minister was Pastor Patrick Okoro who led a large contingent of members and pastorate from RCCG, Jesus Assembly, Games Village Parish Abuja, said in his sermon at the interment, Kosor Akpapunam was a beautiful soul who touched the lives of all those who came across her path. She will be missed.

She ran the race and she lived well and in Christ. Media personality and friend of the couple, Al Humphrey Onyanabo revealed, I attended all the events for the burial, from the service of songs in Abuja to the traditional all-night wake keep in Ezi to the interment in Asaba, Sister K was no Dangote or Adeniga, but she was loved because she reached out and touched the lives of those around her meaningfully. It’s a profound lesson for all of us to live an impactful life.

Her husband Henry Akpapunam said in her memory he and his sons Chuks and Oge had decided to continue with Kosor foundation which she set up.

This is the least we can do to continue the good work she started. Prominent in all activities were her fellow members of the Elegant Ladies Club of Asaba, a cosmopolitan assemblage of successful Asaba professionals and businesswomen who honored a worthy member by their active participation and support.

At the reception after interment, they took control of the event ensuring that guests were comfortable and adequately provided for. Mrs A U Okocha who was present at all the events summed up Sister K.

Present from the ELCA were Mrs Mary Uraih (President), Mrs Pat Onianwa (Vice President), Mrs Joan Monu (provost), Mrs. Nkem Ogosi (legal adviser), Mrs Maryam Eyuche Mujadadi (social and publicity secretary) and many others.

Also present was a delegation from Edo College Old Boys Association, Ecoba 65-69 group, to which Henry Akpapunam belong.
