On August 8, 2025, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1 or K1 De Ultimate, publicly apologized to Nigerians and aviation stakeholders for his behavior at the Abuja airport.

The incident, which reportedly disrupted flight operations, had drawn criticism and even prompted regulatory action from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

I tender my sincere apologies. That moment doesn’t represent who I am.

In a statement, the music icon described his actions as “unfortunate” and clarified that his conduct during the altercation did not reflect his true character.

His KWAM1 airport apology comes after the NCAA called for his prosecution and advised airline operators to consider placing him on a No-Fly List pending further investigation.

The statement of remorse may serve as a positive step toward reconciliation with both the aviation sector and the public.
