The Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State has sharply criticised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his handling of the recent bandit attack on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred late on Tuesday night, claimed at least ten lives and left numerous homes destroyed, according to the PDP statement issued in Ilorin on Wednesday.

Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, described the governor’s response as superficial and lacking concrete reassurance for victims.

Adewara noted that a former Students’ Union President of a tertiary institution was among those killed, calling the attacks “gruesome, despicable, inhuman, and callous.”

The opposition party argued that Kwara State requires decisive, people-oriented leadership to address persistent insecurity.

“The governor’s statement is riddled with self-adulation and presents a misleading picture of security in the state,” Adewara said, emphasising that kidnappings and village assaults remain widespread.

The PDP further urged immediate deployment of humanitarian aid, medical support, and relief materials to the affected communities.

The party called on security agencies to intensify operations to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent further tragedies.
