Nigerian Army troops kill a suspected terrorist and recover arms and ammunition during an ambush operation in Lokoja’s Adankolo Forest Reserve

Troops of the Nigerian Army 12 Brigade, operating under Operation Tiger Paw II, have neutralised a suspected terrorist and recovered arms and equipment during a coordinated ambush in the Adankolo Forest Reserve, Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Lokoja army operation terrorists arms recovery mission was carried out following credible intelligence on the movement of suspected criminal elements within the forest area.

According to a statement by Brigade spokesperson Lt. Hassan Abdullahi, troops of the Quick Response Group laid an ambush at a known crossing point and engaged the suspects in a fierce gunfight.

One terrorist was killed during the encounter, while others reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds into surrounding bushland.

A subsequent mop-up operation led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, a locally fabricated pistol, magazines, ammunition, and several other logistics items, including a motorcycle and communication devices.

Cash and medical supplies were also recovered during the operation, underscoring the scale of materials seized from the fleeing suspects.

Lokoja Army operation against terrorists arms recovery effort is part of ongoing military operations aimed at denying criminal groups freedom of movement across Kogi State.

Military authorities said troops are currently conducting further clearance operations to track down the escaping suspects and consolidate gains from the mission.
