A statement signed by LSSTF Media Consultant Samson Oki, shared with PUNCH Online on Tuesday, noted that the deployment at the LSSTF headquarters forms part of measures to strengthen oversight of public resources allocated to security agencies operating in the state.

The exercise also reflects Ogunsan’s commitment to reinforcing public confidence in the Trust Fund by ensuring that donations and government support are judiciously deployed to improve security outcomes.

“This Monitoring Team is not ceremonial. You are being deployed to ensure strict compliance, value for money, and responsible use of all assets provided to our security agencies.

The credibility of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund rests on how well we safeguard and account for the resources entrusted to us. Discharge your work effectively,” Ogunsan was quoted as saying.

The statement added that Mr Adeniran Samson, a security expert, was unveiled as Head of the Field Operations Office of the LSSTF Monitoring Team.

An operational vehicle was also presented to the team to enhance mobility and efficiency in the execution of its assignments.

Addressing the team, Ogunsan stressed that their role is “critical to sustaining the credibility of the Fund and maintaining the confidence of corporate donors and private contributors.”

PUNCH Online reports that the constitution and deployment of the Monitoring Team fulfil a commitment previously made by Ogunsan during a strategic media parley with senior editors and media executives on December 5, 2025.
