Observations show that Mutfwang arrived at about 3:00 p.m., followed by Makinde at 3:30 p.m.

The engagements come amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, as key stakeholders hold strategic consultations.

Governor Makinde, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), remains one of the few PDP governors who have not defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He is widely considered to be eyeing the PDP presidential ticket for 2027.

Governor Mutfwang recently defected from the PDP to the APC, marking his first known meeting with President Tinubu since the move.

His defection adds to the growing number of opposition figures joining the ruling party.

President Tinubu has in recent months engaged with governors across party lines, signalling efforts to maintain political dialogue and consolidate alliances ahead of the next general elections.
