Nigeria, three-time champions of the tournament, have been one of the most in-form teams at AFCON 2025, recording four wins from four matches. The team has scored 12 goals while conceding only four.

Simon stressed the importance of concentrating on the task ahead rather than past achievements.

“The past is behind us. Our focus is on the present, and our goal is to win,” he told reporters in Marrakech.
