Moses Simon urges Super Eagles to focus on Algeria in AFCON 2025 quarter-final, saying past achievements won’t secure victory
Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has called on Nigeria’s national team to remain focused ahead of their quarter-final clash against Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria, three-time champions of the tournament, have been one of the most in-form teams at AFCON 2025, recording four wins from four matches. The team has scored 12 goals while conceding only four.
Simon stressed the importance of concentrating on the task ahead rather than past achievements.
“The past is behind us. Our focus is on the present, and our goal is to win,” he told reporters in Marrakech.
The Super Eagles will face Algeria at the Grande Stade de Marrakech on Saturday in what Simon described as their “biggest test in the competition so far.”
