Muyiwa Ajayi-Bembe Foundation Christmas outreach supports over 400 families in Lagos Island with food relief during the festive season

The Muyiwa Ajayi-Bembe Foundation has delivered Christmas relief to more than 400 families in Lagos Island, easing festive hardship through its annual Women Christmas Outreach 2025.

The outreach, organised by Ajayi-Bembe Olumuyiwa & Friends, took place at the Obanikoro Palace in Lagos Island.

Beneficiaries, mainly women and vulnerable households, received 10kg bags of rice and bottles of vegetable oil.

Founder of the foundation, Muyiwa Ajayi-Bembe, said the initiative reflected compassion and responsibility to the community.

He said economic pressures made grassroots support more urgent during the festive period.

Ajayi-Bembe explained that the foundation began operations in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He recalled that many residents struggled to meet basic feeding needs at the time.

“The foundation started during COVID with a few friends when people could not feed properly,” Ajayi-Bembe said.

He said the group initially conducted frequent zonal food outreaches.

The initiative later evolved into a structured community development programme.

After the lockdown, the foundation organised a football competition to promote youth unity and social bonding.

It also provided three boreholes to improve access to clean water within the community.

Ajayi-Bembe said the Christmas outreach has now become an annual tradition.

“This year alone, we are reaching over 400 families,” he said.

He added that the intervention supports government efforts to cushion economic reforms.

“This is to reduce tension and support national recovery efforts,” Ajayi-Bembe said.

He urged residents to remain peaceful and patient.

He expressed confidence that ongoing reforms would deliver positive outcomes.

Obanikoro and Secretary of all Traditional Chiefs in Lagos, Chief Adesoji Adeniji Ajayiwele, praised the foundation’s commitment.

He described the outreach as timely, impactful, and deeply reassuring for vulnerable residents.

Chief Ajayiwele urged other individuals and organisations to support community-focused initiatives.

Some beneficiaries described the intervention as uplifting.

Mrs Ajibola Owolabi said the support brought relief and joy to many families.

Mrs Monilola Aromokun described the outreach as a consistent show of care for women.

The Women Christmas Outreach remains part of the foundation’s broader mission to strengthen community welfare and social support.
