NASD Exchange market cap rises 106% in 2025 to N2.12tn, driven by new listings, price gains, and stronger performance across equities and digital securities
The NASD Securities Exchange posted a strong performance in 2025, with total market capitalisation rising to N2.12 trillion at year-end, marking a 106 per cent increase from N1.03 trillion in 2024.
The growth was driven by new listings and widespread gains across listed securities.
The Exchange said its diversification strategy produced tangible results, with activity expanding across equities, fixed-income instruments, and digital securities, signalling a move from strategic planning to effective execution.
While trading on the flagship over-the-counter market remained moderate, it was bolstered by new company admissions and improved stability among existing securities.
The NASD Pension Index also recorded impressive gains, climbing 215 per cent to 3,002.68 points from 954.33 points in 2024, with listing activity continuing to play a key role in driving platform growth.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NASD, Eguarekhide Longe, stated that the performance “reinforces NASD’s positioning as Nigeria’s leading alternative securities exchange, providing flexible capital-raising and investment platforms outside the traditional exchange framework.”
The robust results highlight the growing relevance of alternative trading platforms in Nigeria’s capital market landscape and their potential to attract diverse investors and issuers.
