The event formed part of the senator’s Mid-Term Community Assessment and Review Tour and drew traditional leaders, parents, youth groups and prospective beneficiaries.

Mr Akintunde Sawyerr said the collaboration reflected the agency’s determination to deepen engagement with local communities and ensure that the objectives of the federal government’s student loan programme are clearly understood.

He explained that the outreach supports NELFUND’s broader commitment to align its operations with federal, state and community structures to deliver its mandate effectively.

He noted that discussions at the gathering reinforced the importance of expanding access to tertiary education financing and highlighted the agency’s role in bridging financial gaps that often hinder academic progress.

He described the initiative as a powerful step towards ensuring that no eligible learner is left behind.

Mr Sawyerr reaffirmed that NELFUND remains committed to taking its services to every community nationwide so that students who require financial support can access the loan scheme without barriers.

The NELFUND delegation included Executive Director for Finance and Administration Fred Femi Akinfala, SERVICOM Director Sola Fowobaje, Director of Strategic Communications Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, as well as senior aides Yomi Gbadamosi and Festus Adefehinti.
