Nigerian Army operational gains reported as troops intercept supplies, foil attacks and rescue kidnapped victims across multiple theatres nationwide

The Nigerian Army says troops have recorded significant operational gains across multiple theatres, including interception of suspected logistics supplies, foiling of terrorist attacks and the rescue of kidnapped victims within the last 24 hours.

In a report made available by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), troops under Operation Hadin Kai intercepted a truck conveying large quantities of medical supplies suspected to be destined for terrorist groups in the North-East.

The interception occurred at a checkpoint in Nguru, Yobe State, where the driver initially presented a waybill indicating beverages and household items.

A detailed search, however, uncovered hundreds of cartons containing antibiotics, injections, bandages and other medical materials.

Security sources said the driver and three occupants were arrested, adding that one suspect allegedly confessed the consignment was en route to the Republic of Chad via Geidam.

In a separate operation, troops arrested a suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) collaborator in Ngamdu, Borno State, who reportedly admitted involvement in procuring food supplies for insurgents.

Troops also apprehended two suspected collaborators in Monguno, allegedly assisting the movement of family members linked to terrorist elements.

The report further stated that follow-up operations led to the rescue of a woman and her three children linked to a terrorist kingpin.

Elsewhere in Borno State, troops foiled an attempted infiltration by insurgents in Askira Uba Local Government Area, forcing the attackers to retreat and abandon weapons.

Subsequent clearance operations also led to the rescue of three kidnapped victims from a terrorist hideout.

In Bama Local Government Area, troops destroyed a terrorist camp during clearance operations, compelling insurgents to withdraw under pressure.

In the North-Central region, troops under Operation Safe Haven recovered weapons during stop-and-search operations in Plateau State and arrested a suspected gunrunner.

Additional rescue operations were carried out in Bauchi State following exploitation of earlier airstrikes.

In the Federal Capital Territory, troops conducting anti-illegal mining operations raided a site in Gwagwalada, recovering equipment while suspects fled.

In the South-South region, troops of Operation Delta Safe responded to a communal clash in Delta State, restoring calm after one fatality was recorded.

They also intensified anti-illegal bunkering operations in Rivers State, destroying illegal refining sites and recovering large quantities of stolen petroleum products.

Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustained offensive operations aimed at disrupting criminal networks and improving national security across all regions.
