OJUDE OBA FESTIVAL 2022: COMMITTEE LAUDS RITE FOODS LTD FOR SPONSORSHIP OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

The Ojude Oba Festival 2022 planning committee has commended Nigeria’s beverage giant, Rite Foods limited for its commitment to promoting the cultural heritage of the Ijebu people through the sponsorship of the Ojude-Oba Festival 2022 tagged “The Return of the Ojude-Oba”.
The beverage giant known for refreshing consumers with various flavors of revitalizing carbonated soft drinks, energy drinks, tasty on-the-go sausages and fruit drinks across the country and continent is the official beverage sponsor of this year’s Ojude-Oba festival.
The commendation came at a press conference which was held at the Awujale’s palace in Ijebu Ode on Friday to officially flag off the festival slated to hold on Monday, July 11th 2022 at the ancient town of Ijebu Ode.
Chief Dr. Fassy Yusuf, the Baagbimo of Ijebuland and festival coordinator, while speaking at the press conference said that Rite Foods Limited has demonstrated its commitment to promoting the cultural heritage of the Ijebu people through the sponsorship and urged the company to maintain its record of celebrating the peoples’ cultures.
“Rite Foods Limited has always come through for us in situations like this and we must commend them for the effort to promote the cultural heritage of our people. It is our prayer that the company keeps growing in leaps and bounds,” the festival coordinator echoed.
Boluwatife Adedugbe, Brand Manager, Beverage and Bakery, Rite Foods Limited restated her company’s commitment to the promotion of cultural heritage of its people and communities in which it operates. According to her, Rite Foods Limited prides itself as true sons of the soil by joining all sons and daughters of Ijebuland to celebrate the age long festival to honor the paramount ruler of the land.
“For us at Rite Foods Limited, Ojude-Oba is about celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Ijebu people, most especially by paying homage to the paramount ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II. We will always commit to celebrating the Ijebu people and our royal father who bestrides the traditional institution of his people like a colossus; he is an incorruptible leader and statesman who personifies a sagacious, courageous, charismatic, dependable and reliable leader which aligns with our values of excellence and integrity at Rite Foods Limited”, she stated.
The Brand Manager also used the occasion to announce that the festival will provide an opportunity for consumers to experience its newly launched refreshing Sosa fruit drink.
“The platform will be used as another avenue to make a laudable statement on the Rite Foods Ltd just launched refreshing Sosa Fruit Drink”, she added. The sosa fruit drink is available in five flavors – Orange; Apple; Orange, Passion, Mango; Mixed Berries; and Cranberry. All flavors are available for consumers in 35cl and 1Litre packs.
The annual Ojude-Oba Festival is a spectacular celebration of the Ijebu nation of southwestern Nigeria. This age-long cultural heritage and festival of the Ijebus has been in existence for over 2 centuries and the festival is a classic example and manifestation of religious tolerance in Ijebu land.
The host of the festival, the Awujale of Ijebuland, HRM Oba Alaiyeluwa (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona (CFR) Ogbagba II, will be joined by the special guest of honor, the governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu and other top dignitaries, traditional rulers and captains of industries from across the country.
Rite Foods Limited which prides itself as a company with the highest number of brands in its sector is set to win the hearts of multitudes of consumers from all walks of life with its array of refreshing brands to give quality satisfaction to all who would grace the Ojude-Oba Festival 2022.
Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has questioned the authenticity of an interim order issued by the Lagos State High Court on 2 September 2026, restraining her from publishing photographs of Priscilla Ojo’s one-year-old son, Rakeem Mkambala, and from posting editorials concerning the family on specified social media platforms.
Anjorin raised the issue during an Instagram Live session on Friday, 4 September, after Priscilla shared a copy of the court order online.
The actress argued that publicising court documents before formally serving the respondent undermines the case.
“Your case na dead on arrival. If you post court letter on any platform before serving person wey you wan go serve, that court case na fake court case,” Anjorin said during the live session.
Her comments came shortly after the High Court of Lagos State granted an ex parte application brought by Priscilla, her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Mussa Mkambala, and their son, Rakeem.
Justice Yetunde Adesanya issued the interim order in Suit No. LD/ADR/6646/2026.
The order restrains Anjorin, as well as people acting under her authority, from publishing, posting, circulating, uploading or broadcasting photographs of Rakeem on specified social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and TikTok.
The court also directed Anjorin to cease publishing or broadcasting editorials concerning the applicants on the platforms covered by the order.
An ex parte order is made at an interim stage without the respondent being heard. The order is therefore not a final determination of the dispute and remains subject to further proceedings.
Priscilla shared the certified copy of the order on her Instagram Story on Friday, bringing the legal development into public view.
Anjorin’s reaction centres on the timing and manner in which the court documents were publicised. Her assertion that such publication makes a case “fake” is her own claim and is not a finding contained in the court order.
The development marks another chapter in the prolonged public dispute between Anjorin and Priscilla’s family, particularly Priscilla’s mother, actress Iyabo Ojo.
The disagreement has played out largely on social media and has previously resulted in legal action, including a ₦1 billion defamation suit filed by Iyabo Ojo against Anjorin.
In recent weeks, the dispute has also drawn Priscilla and her young son into the controversy, following public comments by Anjorin concerning the family.
Kesiena Tony Adjekpovu, popularly known as Kess, has said that participating in Big Brother Naija can make life harder, offering a candid reflection on the challenges that may come with the reality television experience.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate made the comment in a statement shared on social media, where he suggested that winning or simply taking part in the reality show does not necessarily make life easier after leaving the house.
“Big Brother makes your life harder,” Kess said.
The remark has drawn attention because life after reality television can bring a different set of expectations, particularly as former housemates adjust to increased public attention and the pressure that can accompany visibility.
Kess was a housemate on the seventh season of Big Brother Naija, which aired in 2022. He entered the show as a businessman and was among the contestants who competed for the season’s grand prize.
His time on the programme also placed him in the public eye, giving viewers an opportunity to follow his personality and relationships inside the house.
Kess’s latest comment offers a more reflective view of the reality TV platform, suggesting that the experience does not end when a contestant leaves the house.
However, he did not provide further details in the available post explaining which specific aspects of life after Big Brother he was referring to.
