Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has described teammate Victor Osimhen as a “special player,” highlighting his strength and energy on the pitch.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, the Udinese shot-stopper emphasised that Osimhen brings qualities that elevate the Nigerian national team.
“Osimhen is incredibly strong. Quality aside, he brings an energy to the pitch that no one else brings. He’s a special player,” Okoye said.
The praise comes as the Super Eagles prepare for Friday’s international friendly against Iran. Osimhen will miss the match as he continues to recover from an arm injury.
Osimhen currently sits second on Nigeria’s all-time scoring chart, just three goals shy of Rashidi Yekini’s long-standing record of 37 goals.
Okoye’s endorsement underscores the forward’s importance to the Super Eagles as they aim to maintain momentum ahead of upcoming qualifiers and friendlies.
