Dele Farotimi urges the Nigerian government to provide bulletproof cars and vests for Ambassador Reno Omokri following his appointment to Mexico
Lawyer and public commentator Dele Farotimi has warned that Nigeria’s new ambassador to Mexico, Reno Omokri, could face security risks due to prior comments he made about drug cartels.
Speaking with The Citizenship Project, Farotimi emphasized that the government must ensure Omokri’s protection by providing bulletproof vehicles and vests.
He stated that Omokri’s outspoken remarks might put him in a sensitive position while serving in Mexico.
“Omokri had been busy running his teeth about drug cartels. He must have bulletproof cars and vests where he has gone,” Farotimi said, highlighting the need for proactive safety measures.
President Bola Tinubu recently appointed Omokri to represent Nigeria in Mexico as part of a new diplomatic posting. Omokri, a former presidential aide, is known for his active political commentary on social media.
