The attack occurred in the Ogunti Camp area, causing widespread panic among residents. Security challenges, including kidnappings and killings, have surged across Ondo in recent weeks, prompting protests from communities demanding government action.

According to local sources, the couple were outside their residence when the assailants arrived. Daniel Adesida, a tomato farmer, attempted to stop the attackers and was shot, left bleeding, while his wife was forcibly taken by the gunmen.

Police Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed that Adesida was rescued and taken to a police clinic for medical attention.

The area has been secured, and intensified patrols, bush-combing operations, and intelligence gathering have been ordered by the Commissioner of Police.

“The command assures residents that no effort will be spared in tracking down the perpetrators and bringing them to justice,” Abayomi said, urging the public to report any suspicious movements or individuals.
