Operation Hadin Kai Sallah security alert urges North East residents to remain vigilant as military boosts measures for Eid-el-Kabir safety

The Theatre Command of Operation Hadin Kai issued the advisory through its Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, in a statement released on Monday, extending goodwill messages to Muslim faithful ahead of the Sallah celebration.

The Operation Hadin Kai Sallah security alert came alongside assurances that troops have been strategically deployed across vulnerable locations to prevent any breakdown of law and order during the festivities.

According to the statement, the military has activated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets, while joint patrols have been intensified in coordination with sister security agencies, the Civilian Joint Task Force and local vigilance groups.

However, the command warned of potential threats from remnants of Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, noting intelligence reports suggesting possible attempts to target crowded civilian areas during the festive period.

The military stated that security forces had anticipated such risks and were fully prepared to respond swiftly to any attempted attacks, particularly in markets, motor parks, places of worship and other high-density locations.

Residents were urged to remain cautious during celebrations, avoid unnecessary exposure in crowded areas, and promptly report suspicious activities, unattended objects or unusual movements to security agencies.

The Theatre Command also advised worshippers to conduct Eid prayers and celebrations close to their neighbourhoods, emphasising the importance of community-level vigilance.
