The lawmaker representing Somolu Constituency 01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Biodun Orekoya, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the forthcoming election after winning the party’s primary election held on Wednesday in Somolu.
Orekoya secured the party’s ticket after defeating two other aspirants, Mr. Omogbolahan Bagostowe and Mr. Nuru Aderemi Ogbara, in the keenly contested APC primary.
The victory reaffirmed Orekoya’s dominance in the constituency and strengthened his bid to retain his seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Party members and supporters who gathered at the venue of the exercise hailed the outcome, describing it as a reflection of confidence in the lawmaker’s representation of Somolu Constituency 01.
With the victory, Orekoya is expected to lead the APC into the next election in the constituency as the party seeks to maintain its political hold in the area.
