Osimhen winning mentality praised by Alex Iwobi, who describes the Super Eagles striker’s fierce drive, aggression and determination to win

Alex Iwobi, the Fulham midfielder, has praised the competitive edge of his Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen, describing the striker’s approach to football as a “sick mentality” driven by an intense desire to win.

Iwobi said the Osimhen winning mentality sets the Napoli striker apart from many other players, noting his relentless aggression and work rate both in training and competitive matches.

Alex explained that Osimhen consistently pushes himself to the limit, often putting himself in challenging situations during training sessions in his pursuit of excellence.

He added that the striker’s hunger for goals and determination to create chances through sheer effort make him one of the most dangerous forwards in world football.

Osimhen, who has scored 35 goals in 52 appearances for Nigeria, is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most influential attacking players, with his performances earning recognition on the global stage.

Iwobi said Osimhen’s mentality remains unchanged regardless of opposition, adding that he approaches every game with the same intensity, whether in the Champions League or international fixtures.

While acknowledging that the approach can sometimes appear excessive in training, Iwobi said it reflects Osimhen’s deep desire to win at all costs, even if it occasionally leads to over-competitive behaviour.

Fulham midfielder described the attitude as a key reason behind Osimhen’s rise, stating that his determination and work ethic continue to drive his success at the highest level of the sport.
