Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of HRM Oba Adedeji Olusegun Atanda Onagoruwa, Elesi I – The Alaye of Odogbolu.

In a statement made available to the press, Otunba Daniel extended his heartfelt condolences to the Onagoruwa family, the Elesi Ruling House, and the people of Odogbolu.

The senator described the late monarch as a revered traditional ruler whose reign fostered peace, unity, and remarkable development in Odogbolu.

Daniel noted that Oba Onagoruwa was a pillar of cultural preservation and community progress, ensuring the traditional values of Odogbolu were upheld while embracing modern development.

His leadership played a vital role in advancing education, commerce, and social infrastructure within the town.

He further described the monarch as a father figure who guided his people with wisdom and integrity, ensuring Odogbolu remained a place of harmony and growth.

“His contributions to the traditional institution and his unwavering commitment to the development of Ogun State will never be forgotten,” he stated.

Daniel urged the people of Odogbolu to honour the monarch’s legacy by maintaining the unity and progress he worked tirelessly to achieve.

The senator prayed for the repose of the king’s soul and for strength to the Onagoruwa family and the entire Odogbolu community during this difficult time.
