The incident reportedly occurred in October 2025, when the victim informed her father that she was experiencing pain and had been sexually violated.

The Oke-Alaro Police Division promptly launched an investigation following the report.

“Detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer, took the victim to a hospital for medical examination, treatment, and rehabilitation, where she is currently receiving care and support,” the command said.

The suspect was arrested, placed in lawful custody, and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

State Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna condemned the offence and commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for his guidance in enhancing intelligence-led policing and the protection of vulnerable persons.

CP Haruna directed that the case be transferred to the State CID Gender Desk to ensure a thorough and discreet investigation.

The command reiterated its zero tolerance for sexual and gender-based violence, particularly against children, and urged the public to report any suspected abuse promptly.
