The Oyo State Chairman of the Pension Board, Tunji Adekunle, has stated that the Seyi Makinde-led administration is actively addressing the issue of outstanding pension arrears by disbursing N60 million every month.

As of April 2025, a total of 22,212 pensioners are on the state payroll.

Adekunle, in a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of its retired workforce.

He highlighted the consistent payment of monthly pensions on or before the 25th of each month as a testament to this commitment.

Furthermore, the Pension Board has actively enrolled new retirees, with 142 pensioners added in January, 175 in February, 171 in March, and 143 in April of this year alone.

This continuous enrollment ensures that eligible retirees promptly receive their benefits.

The monthly allocation of N60 million towards clearing arrears, alongside the timely disbursement of current pensions and the ongoing enrollment of new retirees, underscores the Oyo State Government’s proactive approach to fulfilling its obligations to its pensioners.
