Former NBA star Paul Pierce has stated that he is facing severe financial strain and struggling to maintain his court-ordered payments following the loss of his broadcasting income.
According to court documents, Pierce—who earned nearly $200 million during his professional basketball career—reported that his financial standing has plummeted since his employment with Fox Sports concluded, with his final payment from the network processed in August. Prior to the job ending, he averaged roughly $120,000 to nearly $140,000 monthly.
The former Boston Celtics player outlines a heavy monthly financial burden, which includes $28,000 in child support and $20,000 in spousal support. Additionally, he reports spending approximately $48,000 per month on living expenses covering childcare, groceries, dining out, utilities, clothing, and entertainment.
Legal disputes have further intensified the situation, as his ex-wife has requested an additional $40,000 to cover legal fees. Pierce has asked the court to reject the request, citing his diminished income and maintaining that he currently holds approximately $300,000 in liquid savings alongside $3 million in property.
