Raphael Onyedika’s potential move to Galatasaray stalls as Club Brugge demands high transfer fee
Raphael Onyedika’s proposed transfer to Galatasaray has stalled due to the high transfer fee reportedly demanded by Club Brugge, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigerian midfielder, currently representing his country at the Africa Cup alongside Galatasaray record-signing Victor Osimhen, had drawn attention from the Turkish champions during both the summer and mid-season transfer windows.
Turkish media outlet Fotomac reports that Galatasaray coach Buruk has been closely monitoring Onyedika and holds him in high regard.
However, progress on the move is expected to be slow, as Club Brugge competes in the Champions League, making an immediate transfer unlikely before early February.
The Belgian side is said to be demanding approximately €30 million for the 24-year-old, whereas Galatasaray reportedly earmarked €20–25 million for a midfield signing.
Fotomac added that Ederson of Atalanta has emerged as the club’s top alternative, with Onyedika considered only if the Brazilian becomes unattainable.
Onyedika has been a key player for Club Brugge since joining from FC Midtjylland in the summer of 2022 for just under €10 million, making him the fourth most expensive signing in the club’s history.
He briefly fell out of favour under coach Ronny Deila but re-established himself last season, including notable Champions League performances.
High-profile interest in Onyedika has also come from Eintracht Frankfurt, yet no breakthrough transfer has materialised.
The Nigerian international’s consistent form continues to keep him on the radar of several European clubs, but a move to Galatasaray now appears unlikely in the immediate transfer window unless terms are negotiated.
